KUNMING - Delegations of the 5th Seminar for Parliaments of Developing Countries take a field trip to Hetaoyuan Village, Shuanghe Yi Ethinic Township, Kunming City, southwest China’s Yunnan Province, on July 11, 2023.
In order to fully leverage the abundant forestry resources, Hetaoyuan Village has implemented a forest-based economic development project. By capitalizing on the ecological environment, the village has vigorously developed edible mushroom cultivation and traditional Chinese medicinal herb planting under the forest canopy. This initiative aims to increase the utilization and output of forested land, effectively promoting efficiency in the forestry sector, and improved income for local farmers. By transforming its resource advantages into economic benefits, Hetaoyuan Village is paving the way for rural revitalization.
